Ciel no Surge - Ion Looks Exactly Like A Future-Kind of Wife

Official Site

Ionasol, shortly Ion - Ciel no Surge's one and truly heroine of yours.
Official site: Surge Concerto (Ciel no Surge)
Official release: 26 April 2012 (Basically, three days after my birthday. :3)
Console: Playstation Vita

Well, really. I still don't have Playstation Vita on my hand. So don't comment on anything about that. Recently, GUST had announced a Vita game that looked exactly similar with Ar tonelico series. The way GUST did the ruins, enviroments, and even the character, they are all similar. So, let this blog presents you Ciel no Surge! GUST's upcoming game on Vita, with, exception, the gameplay is entirely different with GUST's games previously (Ar tonelico, Atelier Series, etc), and the artist who designed Ion is not S.E.C or Atelier's anymore. But, our favorite director of Ar tonelico series, Akira Tsuchiya will direct this game as well. Though, to be frankly said, I am disappointed a bit. At first.

See? Compare the environment of Ar tonelico ... (below)

Gust, before officially announced this game before, had given the fans clues about the scraps of archives of Tsuchiya a while ago (note: months ago), we, (my friends from facebook and a forum, and I) once predicted that it was the continuation of Ar tonelico series, but it would have seemed that we got the prediction wrong. As a matter of fact, we get GUST's new brand of game that is totally a dating sim kind of game in which, no battles are actually included here. It was like you are playing real-life visual game, in Playstation Vita even.

I haven't taken any interest on Ion before this newest news came by, but heck. I will discuss about Ciel no Surge a bit to enlighten this post. So basically ...
Ciel no Surge or English version of Surge Concerto is about the main (and only, it would have seemed) heroine named as Ionasol, shortly said, Ion. She lost her memory and you, as the hero, need to repair her memory (pictured as broken memories, or wrecked world) and you will do this in the Dream World. The game’s world is called La Ciel and there is song magic (See? It is Ar tonelico-ish). Songs control the sun, which is dangerous in the world. Ciel no Surge takes place in a floating city called Coron.  Simply put, the goal of Ciel no Surge is to restore Ion’s memories, which you’ll do in the Dream World. As Ion’s memories are restored through event scenes in this other world the mystery behind La Ciel will unfold. You see, because this looks like dating-sim game, your bond and everything you do with Ion will effect the whole story. Your bond will effect her memory restoration progress. (Copy that?)

And while restoring her memories, you could basically do anything with her. You could ask her to cook things for you when she is in the kitchen, or you could ask her for a dinner outside. While you are not into the game, she will synthesize things (might be failure or success), or hanging out around her room (and no, you have other choices than to hang out from her room). Not only she could interact with you, but while you are gone, she will have three kids who could make her comfortable without talking to you. They are Tabo, Cass, and Plum.

Sure, you could change her costumes, accecories, anything! All you need is HymP (Hymmnos Point, see, same resemblance with Ar tonelico again).

Simply put (again), she is like your future-wife, or even your virtual girlfriend. You could change Ion's hairstyle, and if you want her hair to be long, you will need to wait.

Not only those features are featured in Ciel no Surge but put in mind that you still need to do restoration memory for Ion. The other features that will entertain you is turning barcodes you found in the game into characters. Such as faeries, and pixies. They also could chat with you with Twitter-like chats, and you need to pay close attention to the messages. These faeries will help you on repairing Ion's mind. Note that.

What makes everything is painful is ... This game is played per episode. And that per episode is as worth as one game. So it is not cheap in any considerable way.

I think the explanation is enough. Anyone wants to buy this game? After 26th of April, you can call me and tell me everything about this game. I actually fall for Ion after seeing her long hair version.

Before I forget, here are the trailers and screenshots from GUST and official site. Enjoy!
